Community standards
NeedsDirt is for dirt, fill, dump sites and hauling. Keeping it to that is what keeps it safe and useful.
What belongs here
- Fill dirt, topsoil, clay, sand, gravel, rock and clean concrete or asphalt
- Dump sites that accept clean fill
- Hauling, excavation and grading work tied to moving material
What does not
- Asbestos, contaminated soil, petroleum, creosote, lead paint, drums of unknown liquid, medical or septic waste
- Dumping on land you do not own or have written permission to use
- Anything that is not dirt, fill, hauling or disposal — NeedsDirt has no general classifieds, no personals and no services section, and never will
- Drugs, weapons, stolen goods, sexual services or trafficking of any kind
- Scams: deposits before pickup, gift cards, wire transfers, cashier's-check overpayments, or asking anyone for a verification code
Every listing carries the poster's own statement that the material is clean fill they have the right to move. We do not inspect material, and we are not a party to any deal. Check what you are taking before you take it.
Reporting something
Every listing and every message has a Report link. It takes one tap, the reporter stays anonymous to the person reported, and a real person reads it. If a post breaks these rules it comes down, and the account can be suspended.
You can also block anyone from a message thread. They cannot reach you again, and they are never told.
We do not read private messages. A message is only ever read by a person if someone reports it, and then only that message and its thread.
Law enforcement
If you believe someone is in danger, call 911 first. For records requests or to report criminal activity on the platform, email support@needsdirt.com with “Law enforcement” in the subject line. We keep records of reports and what we did about them.
