What is NeedsDirt?+
NeedsDirt is a marketplace built specifically for contractors to post and find excess fill dirt, clean dump sites, and excavation material. Listings are sorted by distance from your location so you see what's closest first.
How much does it cost?+
Pricing is based on market density. The first 10 contractors per ZIP code get in completely free. After that, rates start at $5/month and scale up to $40/month as more contractors join your area. Your rate is locked in at the price you sign up at — it never goes up.
What types of listings can I post?+
Four types: Dirt Available (you have excess fill), Dump Site Available (you have land accepting fill), Dirt Needed (your site needs material), and Dump Site Needed (you need a place to dump clean material).
How do I contact someone about a listing?+
Once you're signed up, you can message any listing owner directly through the platform. They'll get an email notification and can reply in-app. Phone numbers and company details are visible on each listing.
Is there a contract or commitment?+
No contracts. Cancel anytime from your account settings — your subscription ends at the end of the billing period. Free accounts have no expiration.
Do you take a cut of deals made on the platform?+
No. NeedsDirt is a subscription marketplace, not a broker. You connect directly with other contractors and negotiate your own terms. Optional in-app payments have a small processing fee, but they're completely optional.
What areas does NeedsDirt cover?+
NeedsDirt is available nationwide across the United States. Any contractor with a valid ZIP code can sign up and post listings. The platform is growing fastest in Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, and Ohio.
Can I use NeedsDirt for my whole team?+
Yes. Team accounts let you add multiple users under one subscription so your whole crew can browse, post, and manage listings. Team pricing starts at $50/month for a base plus per-seat fees.
